To mark International Women’s Day, PTB’s International Cooperation Group sends warm greetings to all our partners and colleagues around the world. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of gender equality and the role we all play in fostering an inclusive and fair society. At PTB, we firmly believe that integrating gender considerations at all levels is not just a commitment but a necessity for sustainable and impactful development cooperation.
In alignment with the feminist development policy of the BMZ—Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development—we are pleased to announce that newly commissioned projects are being implemented with a strong gender-sensitive approach, as reflected in the application of the gender marker. This approach ensures that gender equality is embedded in the very foundation of our work, shaping the way we design and implement our projects to benefit all individuals equally.
Across our various regions, different projects have already begun taking their first steps in implementing targeted gender measures. These initiatives are actively creating frameworks that enable equal opportunities for beneficiaries. For example, projects are facilitating greater participation of women in human capacity development programmes and establishing exchange platforms where women can connect, share experiences and enhance their professional and personal growth.
We are encouraged by these advancements and recognize that while progress is being made, there is still much to do. Ensuring gender equality in all aspects of technical cooperation requires continuous effort, reflection and action. PTB remains committed to this journey and is proud to contribute to an inclusive development landscape where everyone—regardless of gender—has the opportunity to thrive.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our dedication to integrating gender perspectives into all our work. We look forward to continuing this path alongside our partners, pushing for meaningful change and fostering a future where equality is not just an aspiration but a reality.
