The QuISP Alumni Network successfully conducted a highly anticipated kick-off webinar on 11 December 2023. Alumni from various courses and countries joined the virtual event, marking a significant step towards the reactivation of the network.
The QuISP Alumni Network is an initiative of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), which comprises quality practitioners who have undergone training on Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable development (QuISP). PTB has run eleven QuISP courses since 2009 with close to 250 quality practitioners being trained worldwide. QuISP training builds the capacity of the quality practitioner to guide and provide advice on how to establish a functional and internationally recognized national or regional quality infrastructure. The QuISP Alumni Network is run “for the alumni, with the alumni, by the alumni”. Anyone who has participated in QuISP training automatically becomes a member of the network.
Attendees of the kick-off webinar had the opportunity to engage with others at inspiring presentations, reconnect with fellow alumni, and learn about exciting future initiatives. A key highlight of the webinar was the introduction of the network’s new moderators, a dedicated group of alumni set to lead the network into a new era. Their commitment to fostering collaboration and steering the network towards new heights was evident throughout the event.
During the kick-off webinar, the moderators announced details of the first QuISP Alumni newsletter which was subsequently published on 23 December 2023. This newsletter and future editions promise to be a treasure trove of valuable content, showcasing the achievements and activities of the alumni community. The newsletter will be a must-read for both alumni and other parties interested in quality infrastructure (QI) development and its benefits.
Following the successful kick-off webinar, the next webinar for alumni is scheduled for the last week of February 2024 and is titled Quality Infrastructure (QI) Essentials for Sustainable Development in International Trade for Developing Countries. Three expert speakers have been secured to address this topic from three different perspectives, and all alumni will be invited to join and weigh in on the discussions.
With all these activities planned for this year, we are looking forward to an active and inspiring exchange among the members of the QuISP Alumni Network.
