Water is life, but millions of people still have problems with access to clean water. To mark World Water Day on 22 March, we are drawing attention to our global commitment to sustainable water and energy management. With our projects in Jordan, Bolivia, India and Tunisia, we are strengthening the quality infrastructure for the water sector and solutions for renewable energies.
Efficient water management in Jordan
In Jordan we are helping to reduce water losses and improve resource conservation. By strengthening the metering system and quality infrastructure, we are ensuring accurate water metering and fair billing. Both are the basis for more efficient and therefore more sustainable water use – and this is how we support SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation.
Reliable monitoring of water quality in Bolivia
Our project in Bolivia is improving the reliability of water analyses for drinking water and wastewater. Thanks to better monitoring systems, the population benefits from safer water and better environmental protection.
Protecting the Ganges in India
Water monitoring and quality assurance are our focus in India to improve the water quality in the Ganges. By ensuring more accurate and comparable recording of pollution, we support the enforcement of guidelines and contribute to clean water, the health of neighbouring communities and the ecological enhancement of the river.
Green hydrogen in Tunisia
Water plays a key role in the production of green hydrogen, a promising renewable energy source. In Tunisia, we are strengthening the quality infrastructure around hydrogen production and promoting the application of international standards for safety, efficiency and sustainability. This is being done with the aim of driving forward the country’s energy transition, while at the same time not placing undue pressure on the environment and on the scarce resource of water.
A future with sustainable water management
From water conservation to clean energy, our work contributes to a future where communities thrive with reliable access to water and sustainable solutions. On this World Water Day, we want to remind everyone that we are working every day for a world with clean water for all.
