Since June, the Metrology Asia Pacific website has been home to some new contents which are to improve the information exchange in the MEDEA project (Metrology – Enabling Developing Economies in Asia). This online portal was created in cooperation with the Asian Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP) and the Asian Pacific Legal Metrology Forum (APLMF) regional networks and is to increase awareness about the importance of metrology and to make it more tangible.
The portal and its contents are suitable for all national institutes that wish to create more awareness and understanding of metrology. Since June, ten case studies and nine policy briefs have been available online. This content has been created during the MEDEA project.
A case study illustrates the value of metrology to a particular audience or several target groups by means of an example. A policy brief, however, is a short document that contains research results, analyses and recommendations for a particular political subject and is especially addressed to political decision-makers. Accordingly, it contains instructions and proposals as well as informative examples.
We would especially like to thank all the authors as well as the coach Laurie Winkless who has accompanied the creation of the case studies and policy briefs in several training sessions over two years.
