How can we measure our health?
Quality infrastructure (QI) in the health sector is the focus of International Cooperation’s new video that is now on PTB’s website and on YouTube. Standards, measurements and all the other elements in a QI are essential for healthcare systems to work well. Such elements lead to more safety for patients, to promoting a person’s state of health and to more trust in health care services.
The seven-minute animation shows the elements of QI clearly so that they are easy to understand. Connections are also made to the health sector, as the video features a classic medical blood test in a laboratory and the resulting diagnosis of an illness.
This animation is above all intended to give information to stakeholders outside the health sector and the field of QI and to raise their awareness of this issue. You are therefore welcome not only to watch this video, but also to share it and post your comments on it. We would like to take a moment to thank everyone involved for their help in creating this video.
You will find our video on YouTube where you can add your comments on it if you follow this link. And you can also see it here on PTB’s website without ads.
PTB’s International Cooperation group is working on a number of projects with partners in the health sector. These partners include national authorities, laboratories, manufacturers of medical and pharmaceutical products and their associations as well as international networks and organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO). Together our work is strengthening QI in the health sector. Some of our more extensive cooperation projects have been with the African Union, Nepal, the Palestinian Territories and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). You will find further information on healthcare and QI in our brochure.
